PCMC restricts gathering during Chhat Pooja

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has issued an advisory for devotees to celebrate Chhat Pooja by following the standard operating procedures in view of the Covid19 pandemic.
The advisory says that devotees are not allowed to gather at any public places, temples, ghats, to perform puja both during sunrise and sunset. River side area in Pimpri Chinchwad is where puja is held by a majority of North Indians living in the twin town.Shravan Hardikar, Commissioner, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation stated that devotees are not allowed to gather at public places and perform pooja. Also while performing puja at home social distancing should be observed, wearing masks is compulsory and spitting in public places shall be prohibited.

The guidelines are issued keeping the Covid19 pandemic health and safety protocols. Those violating the rules shall be imposed fine by the local Police authorities.
The local ward offices of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation shall keep an eye on the public gatherings.” Action shall be taken under the Disaster management act and Epidemic Control act, Hardikar added.
