Pune: Cricket lovers among senior officials of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), including PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil and many other officials, gave in to the temptation of the Cricket World Cup on October 19 (Thursday) as they reportedly went to watch the Cricket World Cup match between India and Bangladesh at Gahunje Stadium.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Prafulla Puranik, PRO, PCMC said, “PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh along with 2 Additional Commissioners & some other senior officials did go to watch the Cricket World Cup match at Gahunje stadium on October 19. However, before leaving, they had completely ensured that none of the works would be affected or hindered due to this.”

As per further information, the Cricket World Cup has captivated the hearts of fans all over the world. The first game of the Cricket World Cup in Pune between India and Bangladesh was played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje on Thursday. Fans flocked to the stadium to get tickets for the match but some people got into trouble by selling tickets on the black market, which led to cases being registered against them.

It is worthy to note that several high-ranking officials, including the PCMC senior officials, are said to have obtained VIP tickets for the game.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale-Patil and other senior officials took time off work on a regular workday to attend the cricket match. As a result, the municipal corporation had debates and inquiries about their choice to watch the game.
