Pune: Former Mayor of Pune, Ankush Kakade, along with several other political leaders, has decided to take legal action against the use of laser lights during Ganeshotsav, Navratri festivities, and even wedding ceremonies.

As per information, the use of the DJ’s sound and laser lights at high levels has put the health of the younger generation at risk. The recent Ganesh festival has caused significant problems due to the use of laser lights, with reports of a youth from Pune losing 70% of his vision.

Aniket Jadhav, a 19-year-old student from Pune shared that after attending the visarjan procession, he faced major visibility and hearing issues, and the problem subsided only after medical treatment.

In response, Ankush Kakade, Ujjwal Keskar, Satish Desai and Adv Srikant Shirole are jointly expected to file a PIL on the matter in the next three to four months.
