Pimple-Saudagar Celebrates Independence Day with Record-Breaking Flag Formation
Shatrughna Kate’s Youth Foundation Receives Enthusiastic Response for Unique Initiative in Pimple-Saudagar
On Thursday, August 15, 2024, marking the 78th Independence Day of India, Shatrughna Kate’s Youth Foundation organized a distinctive event in Pimple-Saudagar. The initiative aimed to set a unique record and was met with an overwhelming response from the local residents, ensuring its success. Approximately 3,000 people participated by imprinting their handprints to form the Indian flag.
A new trend of innovative programs has emerged with Shatrughna Kate, and this event was a testament to that. The attempt to achieve a world record took place at 11 a.m. at the late Balasaheb Kunjeer Sports Complex, Kunal Icon Road. Participants, including school children, women, elderly citizens, and others, used green and saffron colors to print their handprints on a 150-foot long and 4-foot wide white cloth to create the flag. The enthusiasm of the participants, ranging from small children to the elderly, was palpable, and the act of creating the national flag with their own hands was deeply moving.
The event also included educating the younger generation about the sacrifices made by freedom fighters for India’s independence and emphasizing the significance of Independence Day. Various cultural programs based on patriotism were organized as part of the celebration.
Shatrughna Kate mentioned that the videos of this event would soon be submitted to the Limca Book of Records, and he expressed confidence that Pimple-Saudagar’s name would be etched on the global stage. He also extended his gratitude to all the local residents for their support in making the initiative a success.
