Pimple Saudagar: Dwarka Suncrest Phase 2 & 3 Inaugurates 80 kW Rooftop Solar Project, Expected To Save ₹12L Annually
Pune: In a major step towards promoting clean and sustainable energy, the residents of Dwarka Suncrest Phase 2 & 3 Society in Pimple Saudagar inaugurated the Phase 2 of its 80 kW rooftop solar power project on Sunday (July 26). The project is expected to significantly reduce the society’s electricity expenses while contributing to environmental conservation.
The inauguration was attended by local public representatives, including corporator Shatrughan Kate, corporator Anita Kate and corporator Kunda Bhise, along with other dignitaries and residents. The project was formally launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the dignitaries highlighted the growing importance of renewable energy in view of rising electricity demand and increasing environmental concerns. They said adopting solar energy is no longer just an option but a necessity for building a sustainable future.

They also urged other housing societies across Pimpri-Chinchwad to follow the example set by Dwarka Suncrest Phase 2 & 3 by investing in rooftop solar projects to reduce energy costs and promote a greener city.
According to the society, the 80 kW rooftop solar installation will generate an average of 320 units of electricity per day, producing nearly 1,15,000 kWh annually. This is expected to reduce the society’s common area electricity bills by approximately ₹12 lakh to ₹13 lakh every year.
The project is also expected to have a significant environmental impact by reducing carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by more than 100 tonnes annually, an environmental benefit equivalent to planting over 4,500 trees.
Residents described the initiative as an important milestone in making the society more energy-efficient while supporting the broader goal of sustainable urban development.
