Pimple Saudagar Marks Independence Day with ‘Tiranga Honour’ Cycle Rally, Promoting Green India
Pune, August 15: The Tiranga Honour Cycle Rally 2025, jointly organised by Unnati Social Foundation and Indo Athletic Society, was held with great enthusiasm in Pimple Saudagar on the occasion of Independence Day. Under the slogan “Pedal for Green India”, the rally aimed to spread the message of a greener and healthier nation.
The rally began at 7 AM from the Unnati Social Foundation office and covered a 20 km route via Mukai Chowk to Ravet, before returning to the starting point. All participants were given T-shirts, medals, certificates, BIBs, and seeds for nearly 1.5 lakh trees, urging them to plant them. Refreshments were also arranged, and a lucky draw awarded three bicycles and five helmets to winners. The event beautifully combined Independence Day celebrations with messages of environmental conservation and healthy living.
In her opening remarks, Dr. (Mrs.) Kundatai Bhise said, “This rally is not just to honour the national flag, but also to spread awareness about environmental protection, healthy lifestyles, and patriotism among youth.”
MLA Shankar Jagtap praised the initiative, saying, “Unnati Social Foundation has set a commendable example. This rally showcased a perfect blend of patriotism, environmental care, and health, creating positive energy in society.”
