In a major administrative reshuffle by the Maharashtra government, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh (IAS) has been transferred and appointed as the Commissioner for the Kumbh Mela in Nashik. The transfer order, announced on Tuesday, also includes several key IAS postings across the state.

Until a new appointment is made, Shravan Hardikar (IAS) — currently the Managing Director of Maha Metro and a former PCMC Commissioner — will take additional charge as the head of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Hardikar previously served as the PCMC Commissioner between 2017 and 2020, during which he led several major projects under the Smart City Mission, river rejuvenation plans, and solid waste management initiatives.

Outgoing Commissioner Shekhar Singh had assumed office in August 2022, succeeding IAS officer Rajesh Patil. During his tenure, Singh worked extensively on e-governance improvements, road infrastructure development, and enhancement of public amenities. He also played a crucial role in steering the civic body through post-pandemic challenges while driving urban expansion in the fast-growing industrial region.

Rohan Ghughe, CEO, Zilla Parishad Thane → District Collector, Jalgaon

Sanjay Kolte, Managing Director, Shivshahi Rehabilitation Project, Mumbai → Sugar Commissioner, Pune

Manoj Jindal, Joint Managing Director, MSRDC, Mumbai → District Collector, Ratnagiri

The reshuffle reflects the government’s focus on aligning administrative leadership with key development and infrastructure priorities across Maharashtra.
