Pimpri Chinchwad Cyber Police Arrest Three For ₹82 Crore Data And Source Code Theft From Hinjawadi IT Firm
Pimpri Chinchwad, August 20, 2025 – The Cyber Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad, has arrested three individuals for allegedly stealing confidential data and copyright-protected source code from a Hinjewadi-based IT company and using it to set up their own firm, causing financial losses estimated at ₹82 crore.
According to police, the accused – identified as Biswajit Mishra (45), Nathum Sheikh (42), and Sagar Vishnu (39) – colluded with others to breach company contracts and steal proprietary software solutions, source code, and data. The stolen intellectual property was allegedly used to establish a new company, Apexionics Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Baner, Pune.
The FIR was registered on August 13, 2025, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act, 2000, following a complaint filed by the affected IT firm. Initial investigations revealed that the accused had previously worked with the complainant’s company at senior positions, which gave them access to sensitive information.
Acting on technical leads, police conducted a raid at Apexionics Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in Baner and seized evidence confirming the misuse of stolen data. The accused were taken into custody for further investigation.
Police officials confirmed that the probe is ongoing to determine the full extent of the fraud and identify other possible accomplices.
