Pimpri, April 1, 2025 – The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has recorded a revenue collection of approximately ₹2,100 crore for the financial year 2024-25. The highest share of this revenue came from the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, which contributed around ₹965.71 crore. For the financial year 2025-26, PCMC aims to prioritize revenue collection from the outset and work towards making the city free of tax defaulters, according to Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh.

PCMC generates revenue through various departments, including the Tax Assessment and Collection Department, the Building Permission and Unauthorized Construction Control Department, the Water Supply Department, and the Fire Department. In 2024-25, these departments collectively contributed to the ₹2,100 crore revenue. Specifically, the Building Permission and Unauthorized Construction Control Department generated ₹881.71 crore, the Fire Department collected ₹163 crore, the Sky Sign and Licensing Department brought in ₹20.56 crore, and the Water Supply Department contributed ₹76.41 crore.

Property tax remained the largest source of revenue for the municipal corporation. The adoption of drone surveys and data analysis significantly boosted property tax collection. The GIS-based drone mapping system identified 2.55 lakh newly constructed properties, of which tax assessment for 92,000 properties has been completed. The expected revenue from these properties was ₹177 crore, out of which ₹98 crore has already been collected. In the ongoing financial year, an additional 1.27 lakh properties will be assessed, potentially generating an estimated ₹350 crore in extra property tax revenue for PCMC.
