The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation aims to make public spaces more encouraging for pedestrians, young school children, and residents, with the Green Bridge Project (Harit Setu) being a significant part of this initiative. It is essential to effectively integrate civic engagement and innovation. To ensure that citizens are informed about this innovative project focused on urban safety, the corporation is emphasizing the implementation of various workshops involving young people, experienced experts, and senior citizens. This approach will raise awareness about urban safety and the importance of public spaces and will help the corporation understand citizen feedback, according to Commissioner Shekhar Singh.

A Green Bridge brand development workshop was organized at the Manohar Dattatray Wadhokar Hall in the Knowledge Prabodhini Navnagar School at Nigdi Authority. This event was held in collaboration with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Design School, and Prasanna Desai Architects (PDA). Commissioner Singh spoke to the attendees, providing guidance.

The workshop was attended by Chief Engineer Shreekant Sawane, City Engineer Pramod Ombhase, Executive Engineer Bapusahab Gaikwad, Assistant Engineer Sunil Pawar, Girish Guthe, representatives from Smart City, and other institutions. Additionally, over 60 citizens, including students from DY Patil College of Architecture, SB Patil College of Architecture, and Symbiosis College of Architecture, participated in the workshop.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh stated that the Green Bridge is an ambitious project by the Municipal Corporation designed to provide safe, cyclist-friendly, and pedestrian facilities, which has received global recognition. The project has earned the Municipal Corporation international acclaim through the Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure Award. This project aims to promote and encourage walking, cycling, and running among Pimpri-Chinchwad residents, fostering awareness about public infrastructure and aiding in reducing city traffic. Understanding citizen feedback is crucial, and the Municipal Corporation regularly organizes workshops to engage young people, residents, and experts, receiving enthusiastic responses. Commissioner Singh expressed confidence that the Green Bridge initiative will become a historic project for Pimpri-Chinchwad city.

At the beginning of the workshop, architect Prasanna Desai provided information about the proposed roads and designs through a computer presentation. An interactive discussion session followed, where citizens and students suggested innovative ideas for promoting the Green Bridge project and provided feedback through presentations. These ideas will be used by experts to create project logos and supporting slogans.
