Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation To Build More Fire Stations To Improve Emergency Response
Pimpri, August 5, 2025: With the rapid expansion of Pimpri-Chinchwad city, ensuring timely emergency services has become a priority. The Fire Department of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has undertaken a strategic initiative to expand its network of fire stations across various city areas. While some fire stations are nearing completion, site identification and tender processes are underway for several others.
Currently, 10 fire stations are operational, including the Main Fire Station at Pimpri and sub-stations at Bhosari, Moshi, Chikhli, Talwade, Rahatni, Thergaon, Pradhikaran, Chowisawadi, and Nehrunagar. These stations provide 24×7 services and play a crucial role in both residential and industrial areas.
As the city continues to grow, so does the need for robust safety infrastructure. In response to rising population and the need to reduce emergency response times, the civic body has decided to build additional fire stations. These will cater to industrial hubs, residential colonies, and upcoming townships, ensuring rapid response during emergencies.
Construction is currently ongoing at Punawale, Dighi, Nigdi-Pradhikaran (Hedgewar Bhavan), and at the main Fire Department headquarters in Pimpri to strengthen capabilities.
In addition, PCMC has proposed land acquisition for three future fire stations. Efforts are also being made to acquire land from the Defence Department in Pimple Nilakh. Joint initiatives by the Town Planning and Regional (Architecture) departments are underway to acquire land and begin construction in Chikhali and World Pride City. Tender procedures are in progress to build a fire station in the MIDC F-2 block of Bhosari.

“The new stations will be equipped with advanced tools, quick-response vehicles, and trained personnel. Each setup is being designed considering the local risks.
