Pimpri Chinchwad, September 30, 2025 – The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Pimpri Chinchwad Police destroyed seized narcotics worth approximately ₹23.30 crore, including 662.455 kg of ganja and 19.997 kg of mephedrone, on September 29, 2025.

Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaube had directed the disposal of seized contraband from various NDPS cases registered under Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate. He also emphasized curbing illegal drug trade and eradicating narcotics from the city.

As per his orders and guidance, the Regional Narcotics Disposal Committee, chaired by Additional Police Commissioner Sarang Awad, along with members DCP Shweta Khedkar (HQ)DCP Sandeep Atole (Zone 1), and DCP (Crime) Dr. Shivaji Pawar, supervised the destruction.

The contraband was incinerated at Maharashtra Enviro Power Ltd., Ranjangaon MIDC, in the presence of representatives from the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Regional Forensic Science Laboratory (Pune), State Excise Department (Pune), and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board.

In total, drugs worth ₹23,30,92,750 were destroyed – ganja valued at ₹3.31 crore and mephedrone valued at nearly ₹20 crore.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of senior officials, including Joint CP Shashikant MahavarkarACP Vishal Hire, and ACP Pravin More, with execution led by PI Santosh Patil and his team comprising API Swapnil Chavan, PSI Shakur Tamboli, PSI Swaminath Jadhav, Woman Police Havaldar Shilpa Kamble, Havaldars Dnyaneshwar Mule, Prasad Kalate, Nikhil Shete, Santosh Swami, Constables Randhir Mane, Kapilesh Igwe, Mitesh Yadav, Subhash Gurav, Santosh Sapkal, Chandrakant Jadhav, and Chintaman Supe.
