Pimpri-Chinchwad, October 2, 2025: A heart-wrenching incident shook the Ram Smriti Society in Chovisawadi, Pimpri-Chinchwad, after a 12-year-old boy lost his life when he got trapped in a malfunctioning lift on Wednesday evening.
According to reports, the lift suddenly broke down between the third and fourth floors, leaving the child trapped inside. Residents immediately alerted the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s fire brigade, which rushed to the spot and began rescue operations on a war footing.
Firefighters worked tirelessly to free the boy and eventually managed to pull him out of the lift. However, he had already sustained severe injuries due to being stuck. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital, but doctors declared him dead before arrival.
