Pimpri-Chinchwad, August 13, 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Social Development Department has beautifully combined patriotism and women’s empowerment through the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale Patil, and Deputy Commissioner Mamata Shinde, the department brought together 40 women’s self-help groups (SHGs) from across the eight zonal offices of the city to make the national flag.

These flags were then displayed and sold at prominent locations such as major squares, markets, cultural centres, and school premises. The Social Development Department provided SHGs with the required materials, guidance, and sales venues. Each group directly engaged with local customers to sell their flags. Citizens responded positively, prioritising the purchase of these flags and other items from the exhibitions.

This initiative gave a new dimension to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement at the local level, boosted the confidence and self-reliance of SHGs, and strengthened community participation between citizens and the administration.
