PMC begins gradient reduction work on NIBM Undri Road
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has started the work of reducing the gradient slope from Clover Hills Society till Clover Hills Plaza in Kondhwa.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Parveen Tambe, Founder, NIBM Undri Road Residents’ Forum, said “The work of reducing the gradient from Clover Hills Society to near Forest boundary ahead of Clover Hills Plaza had started around 8 days. However, a line of Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) in the area had to be fixed & shifted to the corner of the road, so the slope reduction work had to be halted for some days. However, it has re-started now. I think the work may take 3 to 4 months to complete, however, we haven’t been provided with a fixed timeline.”
As per further information, the slope will be reduced in the ratio of 4.1 m to 1.1 m. This gradient reduction will drastically reduce height of the road and help in curbing several accidents on NIBM Undri Road.
Gautam Gavand, PMC Road Department Official, said “The work of reducing around 70% of road at the divider wall near Clover Hills has begun. After the reduction, the said road will seamlessly be levelled & will connect with the road heading towards the entrance of Clover Hills Plaza. This entire work may take around 30 to 40 days to complete.”
Nanda Lonkar, Ex Corporator, NIBM & Undri, said “The entire road work from Clover Hills to Palace Orchard has been started wherein the gradient reduction work near Clover Hills Plazs is going on currently.”
