Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has collected over Rs 6 Lakh in fines from offenders in Pune for littering, non-segregation of waste, burning waste, dumping construction-related waste and many more.

As per information and data shared by Sandip Kadam, Deputy Commissioner, PMC Solid Waste Management Department, the PMC has collected a total fine of Rs 6,43,010 from October 1 to October 9, 2023, from 1,479 offenders.

Hence, the following is the entire breakup of offenders, fine collected & type of offence from October 1 to October 9:

Total Number of Offenders – 17

Total Fine Collected – Rs 17,000

· Urinating in Public:

Total Number of Offenders – 13

Total Fine Collected – Rs 2,600

· Burning of Waste:

Total Number of Offenders – 36

Total Fine Collected – Rs 18,000

· Non-Segregation of Waste:

Total Number of Offenders – 89

Total Fine Collected – Rs 33,340

· Littering in Public:

Total Number of Offenders – 1,289

Total Fine Collected – Rs 4,34,670

· Bulk Waste Related:

Total Number of Offenders – 1

Total Fine Collected – Rs 5,000

· Construction-Related Waste:

Total Number of Offenders – 4

Ø Total Fine Collected – Rs 16,000

· Not Wearing Uniform:

Total Number of Offenders – 7

Total Fine Collected – Rs 1,400

Total Number of Offenders – 23
