Pune: Residents and commuters from Maral Chowk (Somji Chowk) to Punyadham Ashram Road in Kondhwa are troubled by poor roads, potholes and more issues.Speaking to Pune Pulse, Adil Shaikh, a resident of Prakriti Palladium Society, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The road and potholes issues are still haunting us. Now, the issues have increased as various deep potholes have developed on Punyadham Ashram Road. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had just put some stones on the big potholes but even they haven’t covered the potholes.”Abdul Rehman Yaveri, a resident of Prakriti Palladium Society, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The road situation has become worse.

The roads haven’t been improved at all. Big potholes are still there. The vehicles still continue to slip & fall on the road due to such potholes and poor quality of roads. I don’t know why the concerned officials aren’t paying attention to this. So much property tax is paid & still nothing has happened.”Rashid Banedar, a resident of Prakriti Palladium Society, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The Punyadham Ashram road condition hasn’t improved at all. The patchwork done by PMC is temporary. Due to heavy rainfall, the patchwork is now washed away & everything is back to square one.

Any senior citizen like me cannot even walk on the road, let alone drive. PMC has been notified about this several times but to no avail.”Hajinayeem Shaikh, a resident of Notting Hill Society, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The road problems here are still there. Due to the huge potholes, vehicles drive as if to prevent themselves from potholes but in the process, they slip on the road.”An X user, troubled by the same issue tweeted, ‘Current condition of the road, right from Maral Chowk (Somji Chowk) till Punyadham Ashram Road. Don’t know which pothole to save and where your vehicle will end up falling.’Sidram Patil, Junior Engineer, PMC Kondhwa Budruk said, “We have done temporary patchwork of the road. However, the work on a drainage line is going on. When that is over, we will soon repair the Punyadham Ashram road work.”
