PMC resolves 734 cases in national consumer redressal court

Pune Municipal Corporation had today organised a national consumer redressal court (rashtriya lok Adalat) in which Rs 8 crores 64 lakh 77 thousand 106 were received from consumers.Â
Maharashtra Legal Services Authority Mumbai had organised this across Maharashtra. PMC recovered Rs 87, 66, 665 from several impending cases of water department, Rs 31, 29,197 recovered from estate management department, property tax department Rs 68,53,964, while a total of 14 cheques amounting to Rs 3, 61,72,680 were received.Â

All these departments had issued 10,624 notices to the violators, out of which 734 cases were resolved and recovered over Rs 8,64,77,106.Â
PMC court judge A B Tehsildar, retired judge V V Sonawane heard the cases and resolved them. Also present were Rajendra Muthe, property tax chief Vilas Kanade, Chief Legal Officer Nisha Chavan, Aniruddha Pawaskar, head, water department and Vijay Landage were present.  Â
