Pune/Pimpri, 8 October,  2024: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has filed FIRs against five individuals for unauthorized construction in the Lonikand area of Haveli taluka. A few days ago, the concerned individuals had been issued notices to stop the illegal construction, but since no action was taken, PMRDA proceeded with legal action on Monday (7 October).

In Survey No. 167 in Lonikand (Haveli taluka), FIRs were lodged at the Lonikand Police Station against Kishor Suryakant Dhamdhere, Laxman Shripati Dhamdhere, Rafiq Iqbal Shaikh, Sagar Damodar Dhotre, and Anita Sanjay Joshi (all residents of Loni Kand, Haveli) for continuing unauthorized construction. Despite repeated notices from PMRDA, they did not comply, leading to the filing of FIRs under Section 54(2) of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.

Property owners within the PMRDA jurisdiction are consistently urged to carry out construction only with proper permission and to immediately stop ongoing unauthorized construction. The action of filing FIRs was taken under the guidance of PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase and Superintendent of Police and Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe. The operation was led by Joint Commissioner Dr. Deepti Suryawanshi-Patil, Tehsildar Sachin Maske, Ravindra Ranjne, and Junior Engineer Abhinav Londhe. Under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act
