Mumbai, June 16, 2025 – To make religious tourism affordable for the poor and common people, Maharashtra’s Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik has appealed to private tour and travel companies to collaborate with MSRTC in organizing joint tours.

The initiative aims to offer cost-effective travel including accommodation and meals to religious destinations.

Minister Sarnaik emphasized that this collaboration would help provide pilgrimage packages at subsidized rates, especially during the holy Shravan month and other festive periods.

Through this public-private partnership, religious tours such as Pandharpur, Akkalkot, Tuljapur, Trimbakeshwar, Shirdi, and Nashik could become accessible for economically weaker citizens. MSRTC will coordinate the planning of these religious tours with private operators to ensure smooth execution.
