Pune: ₹500 Entry Fee For Parking At Lavasa Triggers Protests
Lavasa, July 22, 2025: Shiv Sena workers staged a strong protest at the Lavasa city entry gate on Friday, opposing the ₹500 fee collected from motorists under the guise of a “parking charge.” Protesters alleged that the fee amounts to public exploitation as no services are provided in return.
Tourists visiting the area are being charged Rs 200 for two wheelers and Rs 500 for four wheelers.
The agitation was led by Shiv Sena district chief Prakash Bhegade, district chief Abasaheb Shelke, district coordinator Kailasbhau Marne, deputy district chief Ram Gaikwad, taluka chief (Shiv Sahakar Sena) Mauli Daphal, deputy taluka chief (Yuva Sena) Datta Zore, and division chief Dhananjay Pasalkar.

In response, the Lavasa administration has scheduled a meeting with the agitators on Thursday at the Town Hall to discuss the issue. Shiv Sena leaders warned that if the ₹500 entry fee is not revoked soon, the protest will intensify.
Although no official statement has yet been issued by the Lavasa authorities, Thursday’s meeting is expected to offer a possible resolution.
