Pune, Viman Nagar, September 24, 2025 – The Pune East branch of Bharat Vikas Parishad recently organized the West Maharashtra regional level group song competition, celebrating patriotic music and nurturing students’ artistic talents. The event took place at the Ishanaya Auditorium of Symbiosis International School, Viman Nagar, with participation from 13 schools across the region.

The program began with floral tributes to Bharat Mata and Swami Vivekananda, followed by the singing of Vande Mataram. The inaugural ceremony was graced by social worker Dr. Abhijeet Sonawane, who works on rehabilitating beggars, and Hanumant Rao Barge, who won a bronze medal for India in an Asian swimming competition.

Senior members of Bharat Vikas Parishad, including Dattaji Chitale, West Maharashtra Regional President Abhay Chouksey, Devgiri Regional President Amit Kulkarni, Regional Culture Coordinator Vishwas Laturkar, and General Secretary Shirish Kulkarni, were also present.

In the competition, James English Medium School from the Nasik Midtown branch won first place and will represent West Maharashtra at the upcoming regional competition in Bhuj, Kutch, Gujarat, on November 9, 2025. Paranjpe High School from the Kothrud branch secured second place, while Wisdom High School from the Nasik City branch finished third.

To encourage teacher participation, a separate singing contest was held via video recordings. Mr. Bari from the Nasik City branch emerged as the winner in the teachers’ category.

The closing and award ceremony was conducted in the presence of Superintendent of Police Ashok Kadam from the Anti-Corruption Department, who distributed prizes to the winners and provided guidance on cyber fraud awareness.

The event was successfully organized under the leadership of Pune East Branch President Venkatesh Patki and Secretary Madhuri Koranne, with support from all office bearers, members, Cultural Coordinator Srinivas Chenshetti, Ranjit Nambison, Shankar Mugave, and Competition Regional Coordinator Arvind Bopardikar, according to Dr. Devkisan Baheti, Treasurer of the Parishad.
