Pune, April 2, 2025: The Poona Club Swimming League 2024, will be held at The Poona Club Swimming Pool from 3 to 5 April 2025.
Speaking to reporters Gaurav Gadhoke, President of Poona Club said that Swimmers were selected through an auction (notional) process by the team owners who are members of the club. Managing Committee members, CEO & Secretary Col Sarkar and PCSL 2025 committee members were present at the auction.
The Title sponsor for the event is Venkys, Vencobb and NECC.
Surudha Sanghvi(48 yrs old), Sophia Baker (11 yrs old), Tisha Rathi(13 yrs old), Anaisha Sood(15 yrsold),Samara Master (10 yrs old) ,Aarav Nanda(10 yrs old),Rajveer Patil (16 yrs old) & Aditya Maharajsingh (52 yrs old) were the Retained Players.
Ammaya Shetty (11 yrs old),Anneka Shetty (14 yrs old), Mihika Mohite(14 yrs old),Lara Vaswani(11 yrs old),Dhyaan Jhunjhunwala (13 yrs old) ,Tanuushri Rathi (20 yrs old),Divyanka Bhosale (13 yrs old), Rayaan Sanghvi (12 yrs old)were the most expensive swimmers at the auction.
The Teams and Owner names are as follows: ASR Dolphins (Amit Roplekar), Jets (Rakesh Navani), Goel Ganga Real Rich (Atul Goel), Polo Aqua Warriors (Mrs.Poonam Rathi) , Advika Parmar All Stars (Hiren Parmar & Payal Bhartia), SK Flippers (Shailesh Ranka Sameer Sanghvi and Kunal Sanghvi), Jaguars (Manpreet Uppal and Gaurav Gadhoke), Advani Splash Titans (Mr.Vijay Advani)
Speaking about the League Details Gaurav Gadhoke, President of The Poona Club Ltd & Tournament Chairman added that the format of the League is designed to be extremely competitive. 8 teams have been divided in 2 groups of 4 teams each by way of a lucky draw. Top 6 teams, by virtue of the points system from will qualify further. The Grand Finals will be held on Saturday 5Th April 2025.
Tushar Aswani, Sports Chairman of The Poona Club Ltd & Tournament Director mentioned that this is one of the fastest growing leagues and we are excited to bring this experience and enthusiasm to the Club.
The excitement for the league is at its peak. 135 Poona Club Members (Women, Men and Children) have participated in the age group 6 years old to 75 years old. This year the female & male participants will be competing separately. Altogether 120 events will be held over three days consisting of Freestyle, Breaststroke, Backstroke 20m, 40m, and Relay format.
A special committee composed of Gaurav Gadhoke (Tournament Chairman) and Mr. Tushar Aswani (Tournament Director)has been formed for the smooth conduct of the event.
