Pune: 60 Illegal Structures Demolished in Encroachment Removal Drive From Parihar Chowk To Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk
Pune, October 10, 2025: In a major encroachment clearance operation conducted on October 9, 2025, the Encroachment Removal and Building Departments of the Aundh-Baner Regional Office carried out a joint action to remove unauthorized commercial structures along Parihar Chowk to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk and adjoining roads.
During the drive, approximately 60 unauthorized sheds, shops, hotels, temporary and permanent structures were demolished. The action cleared front and side margins that had been illegally occupied.
The coordinated operation was led by Junior Engineer Kamini Gholap from the Building Department, with assistance from Assistant Kokare, personnel from the Maharashtra Security Force, police officials, and civic staff including Encroachment Inspector Rahul Bokan, Assistant Encroachment Inspectors Vaibhav Jagtap, Rahul Doke, Hasham Patel, and Pankaj Awad.
Additional support was provided by the Encroachment Departments of the Kothrud-Bavdhan and Ghole Road-Shivajinagar Regional Offices. Around three truckloads of seized material, including tents, iron grills, refrigerators, counters, stalls, and other items, were confiscated. In total, nearly 9,500 square feet of public land was cleared during the operation.
The drive was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment Department) Sandeep Khalate and Assistant Municipal Commissioner Girish Dapkekar.
Encroachment Inspector Rahul Bokan stated that such removal actions against unauthorized structures will continue to be conducted regularly and strictly in the future.
