Pune, Maharashtra – A shocking incident of sexual abuse has come to light in Pune’s Nanded City, where a father has been arrested for allegedly abusing his own 14-year-old daughter for a period of eight months. The accused, a 45-year-old man, was taken into custody after the Child Rights Committee reported the crime to the police.
Details of the Abuse
According to the police, the abuse took place between July 2024 and February 2025. The victim’s mother was living separately from the accused at the time, leaving the 14-year-old girl alone with her father. The accused allegedly took advantage of the situation, threatening and physically assaulting his daughter to force her into sexual acts.
The abuse continued even after the mother returned home in November 2024. The accused would wait for his wife to leave for work before continuing his abuse. The victim finally confided in a trusted adult, who then reported the crime to the authorities.
Arrest and Charges
The accused has been arrested and charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He is currently in police custody and is awaiting trial.
