Pune: Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing Near Baramati Airport, Pilot Safe
Pune, August 9, 2025: A training aircraft belonging to Redbird Flight Training Centre crash-landed near Baramati Airport in Pune district on Saturday morning. No injuries were reported, and the pilot escaped unharmed.
According to police, the incident occurred around 8 AM while the aircraft was returning from a training sortie. During the flight, the pilot noticed damage to one of the tyres and decided to carry out an emergency landing.
“After touchdown, the front wheel detached, causing the aircraft to veer off the taxiway and move towards the opposite side of the airport,” a senior police officer said.
Authorities confirmed that the aircraft sustained damage, but no harm came to the pilot or others. An investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the mishap.
