Pune: Airline Urges Passengers To Arrive Early At Airport Amid Rain
Pune, August 18, 2025: Passengers flying out of Pune have been advised to reach the airport well in advance as heavy rainfall and tightened security checks are causing longer wait times and potential delays.
Airport authorities had issued an advisory around August 15, 2025 asking travellers, including those on domestic flights, to arrive at least three hours before departure to avoid missing flights due to extended check-in and additional screening procedures.
Airlines have also echoed the warning. Akasa Air, in a travel update on Saturday, highlighted that continuous heavy rain in Pune, Mumbai and Goa has led to slow-moving traffic and congestion on roads leading to airports.
“Due to heavy rainfall in certain parts of Mumbai, Goa and Pune, we anticipate traffic delays. Passengers are requested to plan additional travel time and check real-time flight status before leaving for the airport,” the airline stated.
