Pune International Airport (PIA) has achieved a major milestone by crossing the 1 crore passenger mark for the first time in 2024. This reflects an 8% growth in passenger traffic compared to 2023, according to data from the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

The airport recorded 1.01 crore passengers in 2024, up from 94.39 lakh in 2023. Of these, 98.97 lakh were domestic travelers, marking a 7% increase, while 2.04 lakh were international travelers, reflecting a 20% rise.

In December alone, 9.54 lakh passengers traveled through Pune Airport, setting a record for the highest-ever monthly passenger volume. This included 9.20 lakh domestic and 33,337 international passengers.

He also highlighted the rise in international travel, citing the addition of three new international flights, two to Bangkok and one to Dubai.

On average, the airport now handles 17,000 international and 8.24 lakh domestic passengers per month.

December also saw Pune Airport recording its highest-ever flight movement, with 204 flights operating within 24 hours 102 departures and 102 arrivals.

With continuous growth and expanding connectivity, Pune Airport is solidifying its position as a key aviation hub.
