Pune’s Kothrud locality witnessed a tense night after two unidentified men, armed with sharp weapons, attempted to break into a residential society. The entire act was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media, raising fresh concerns about rising crime in the area.
The footage shows the duo loitering near the entrance before trying to force their way inside. According to preliminary police findings, the suspects were carrying sharp objects and appeared intent on committing burglary.
Pune Police quickly responded to the incident and have begun analyzing CCTV footage from surrounding areas to trace the accused. A special team has been deployed to track them down, while patrolling has been intensified across Kothrud to prevent further incidents.
The burglary attempt comes amid heightened tensions in the neighborhood, which has already been rattled by recent reports of gunfire and machete attacks allegedly linked to the Nilesh Ghaywal gang. Though several gang members have been arrested in ongoing crackdowns, fear continues to grip residents.
