Pune: Artificial Skeleton On City Road Sparks Panic; Probe On
Pune, 22 August 2025: A dramatic scene unfolded at Shastrinagar Chowk in Yerwada on Thursday afternoon after a skeleton was found lying in the middle of the road, causing panic among commuters. The spot, located just 100 meters from Yerwada Police Station, saw immediate police action after concerned citizens alerted authorities.
Initially, the skeleton appeared genuine, featuring a skull, torso, and pelvic bones. With heavy traffic in the area, several vehicles unknowingly ran over it before pedestrians noticed and raised an alarm.
Upon examination, police confirmed that the skeleton was not real but an artificial model crafted from Plaster of Paris and wires, likely intended for educational purposes.
A police official stated that while the skeleton was probably discarded, the circumstances of how it ended up on such a busy road are still under investigation.
