On January 12, an international volunteer group named ASEZ WAO kicked off 2025 with a strong start by carrying out the ‘Green Earth’ ‘Fatima Nagar Street Cleanup’ activity, at Pune Azad Nagar, Wanowrie, Pune, Maharashtra. ASEZ WAO is the Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group of the World Mission Society Church of God (General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol, hereinafter the Church of God). The group name ‘ASEZ WAO” stands for “Save the Earth from A to Z, We Are One Family,” which means, “Let us save the earth from the beginning to the end, as one family.
ASEZ WAO officials said, “The youth have come together with one mind to clean up their local communities and practice Christ’s teachings to ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’” They also expressed their hope that their neighbors would start the new year in a clean environment. They also expressed their aspirations, saying, “ASEZ WAO will continue to actively work for the sustainable development of humanity and the Earth this year as well.”

On this day, 85 ASEZ WAO members, their families, neighbors, and colleagues gathered on a holiday morning to transform a 1 km area spanning Pune 59/6, Disney Park, Azad Nagar, Wanowrie Fatima Nagar, Pune. In the southern part of Pune city. This area is densely populated with various residential zones, educational institutions, schools, and medical facilities, resulting in a high floating population.
Local residents responded with bright smiles to the volunteers, who diligently collected various types of household waste and other debris scattered throughout the area. Over the course of two hours, the volunteers collected an impressive 2,800 kg of garbage. The Wanowrie Ramtekdi Ward Office expressed their gratitude for the volunteer efforts and supported the initiative by providing cleaning tools, including tongs, gloves, and garbage bags.
Karan Latawde, DSI Wanwadi Ramtekdi – Ward office, who visited the site, emphasized the importance of the environment by saying ” Even though PMC people clean the garbage daily, still the public keeps putting garbage in the road side, it is good to see such Young Adults Volunteer workers work with so much enthusiasm even on a holiday, instead of enjoying their holiday”. Such Volunteers are the need of the hour in an increasingly polluted and populated City.
Since 2017, ASEZ WAO has been carrying out ‘Campaigns for Earth’ across the country to address climate change and protect the ecosystem. Areas such as the area around Bharati Vidyapeeth police station in Pune, Vitthal Rao Shivarkar Road, and Sangeeta Samrat Naushad Ali Road in Mumbai in Maharashtra, as well as Urdu High School in Proddatur, Kadapa District in Andhra Pradesh, the area around Russel in Shivajinagar market in Bangalore, Karnataka, and the area around Jhandewalan metro station in Karol Bagh, Delhi have been cleaned up through continuous Green Earth activities.
