Pune: Astrologer Arrested For 25 Year Old Law Student Who Sought Horoscope Guidance For Brother
Pune Police Arrest Two For Molesting Journalist During Ganpati Visarjan
A 45-year-old astrologer from Pune has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 25-year-old woman who had approached him with her brother’s horoscope, police said on Sunday.
The accused, identified as Akhilesh Laxman Rajguru, reportedly committed the act at his office in Dhankawadi a few days ago, according to officials.
The woman, a college student, had initially visited Rajguru’s office with her brother’s astrological chart. During the visit, the astrologer allegedly asked her to return the following day, claiming he needed to hand over a particular object.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Milind Mohite stated that when the woman visited the office again as instructed, the astrologer allegedly molested her.
Following her complaint, Rajguru was taken into custody. A case has been registered under sections 74 (outraging a woman’s modesty) and 78 (stalking) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant provisions of the Maharashtra Black Magic Act. Further investigations are underway.
