Pune: Aundh And Bhau Patil Road Residents To Stage Protest At Sai Chowk Against New Khadki Railway Station Gate
Pune, October 3, 2025: Residents’ associations from Mont Vert Society, St. Thomas School, Aundh Road-Bhau Patil road, and nearby housing complexes will hold a peaceful civil protest on Friday, October 3, at Sai Chowk, Khadki, to oppose the newly created entrance of Khadki Railway Station.
For years, locals have struggled with severe traffic congestion at Sai Chowk. Following persistent efforts by citizens, the junction was recently cleared of encroachments, making the road wide and accessible. However, residents fear that the new main railway gate will once again choke the area, bringing back chaos that will directly affect schools, commuters, and residents.

The rally, led by Prakash Dhore, will begin at 6:00 PM near Sai Mandir, Khadki Railway Station. Citizens are urging railway and civic authorities to relocate the entrance to a more suitable location in the interest of public safety and smooth traffic flow.
“This protest is not just about traffic, it’s about safeguarding the daily lives of thousands of residents, schoolchildren, and commuters who will be impacted if corrective measures are not taken now,” said members of the organizing societies.
Residents are calling for immediate attention from authorities to prevent future congestion and to ensure long-term urban planning solutions for the busy junction.
The civic action will see participation from members of Mont Vert Society, St. Thomas School community, AR-BPR residents, and surrounding neighborhoods.
