Balewadi, Pune | August 11, 2025 — The Balewadi Welfare Federation has reaffirmed its commitment to urban greenery through its ongoing ‘Green Balewadi’ initiative. Since its launch in 2021, the Federation has planted over 1,200 trees across Balewadi, with an impressive survival rate of nearly 850 to 900 trees. This sustained effort, in collaboration with the Pune Municipal Corporation’s Garden Department, aims to restore Balewadi’s green cover by utilizing open spaces, roadside stretches, and community grounds.

The latest plantation drive took place yesterday morning, August 10, along the road from Dasara Chowk to the Lakshmi Mata Temple. A total of 50 saplings were planted during the event, marking the second major plantation effort of the monsoon season. The first drive for 2025 was held in June, with 50 trees planted in the Palak Marg area.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from Federation members, volunteers, and local residents, reflecting strong community support for environmental stewardship.
