Balewadi:The Balewadi Welfare Federation organized a Police-Citizen Dialogue on March 8, drawing significant participation from local residents. Senior Police Inspector Navnath Jagtap of Baner Police Station and Traffic Department Head Shafil Pathan addressed various concerns, including traffic issues, crime, and encroachments.
Inspector Jagtap provided detailed guidance on preventing cyber crimes, crimes against women, and safety measures for senior citizens. He also advised residents on social media safety and assured increased patrolling in crime-prone areas. Citizens were encouraged to report incidents by calling *112* for immediate action.
Regarding traffic congestion at Radha Chowk, Inspector Pathan assured that corrective measures would be implemented soon. He stated that traffic bottlenecks would be assessed through on-ground inspections, signals would be installed where necessary, and obstructions hindering smooth movement would be removed.
Both officers dedicated time to addressing residents’ concerns, took note of their grievances, and assured necessary action. Citizens appreciated the initiative by the federation and expressed gratitude to the police officials.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Iris Society Secretary Jyoti Meshram, followed by an introduction from Federation Chairman Ramesh Rokde and concluding remarks by Vice Chairman Ashok Nawal.
The success of the program was attributed to the efforts of Federation Vice President Parshuram Tare, Secretary Indrajit Kulkarni, S.O. Mashalkar, Joint Secretaries Moreshwar Balwadkar and Ashish Kotamkar, Treasurer Dafedar Singh, and committee members Vikas Kamat, Asmita Karandikar, Shakil Salati, Vaibhav Adhav, Shubhangi Ingavale, Yogendra Singh, Sachin Patil, Rajiv Shah, Yash Chaudhary, and Omprakash Wankhede.
