According to reports, the victim has been identified as Pravin Ramesh Dimbale, a constable with the Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Division. The incident occurred late last night near the canal-side furniture shops in Undri-Pisoli, as Dimbale was heading home after completing his duty.
At that moment, an unknown group of four men in a car stopped nearby and attacked him mercilessly. Dimbale sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
A few days ago, another shocking incident had taken place on Law College Road, where a police personnel was attacked with a sickle during midnight hours. The recurrence of such attacks has sparked concerns about the safety of law enforcement officers in Pune.
