Pune Bids Farewell To Kasba Ganpati In Devotion-Filled Visarjan Procession
Pune, September 6, 2025 — The grand conclusion of the 10-day Ganeshotsav was marked today on Anant Chaturdashi as Pune’s first revered Kasba Ganpati was immersed with devotion and discipline.
The farewell took place at 3:50 PM, with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya” echoing across the city.
Since morning, Pune has been witnessing vibrant visarjan processions with devotees immersing household and community Ganesh idols.
The city’s streets were filled with gulal clouds, floral showers, rangoli decorations, and the rhythmic beats of dhol-tasha. Youth dressed in traditional attire joined the celebrations, dancing and playing age-old games, especially around Alka Chowk.
The Kasba Ganpati procession, considered the most prestigious among Pune’s manacha Ganpatis, set the tone for the day. Amidst an atmosphere of devotion, discipline, and festivity, Punekars gathered in huge numbers to bid an emotional farewell to their beloved deity.
The city’s centuries-old tradition of Ganeshotsav thus came to a heartfelt close, with devotees praying for Bappa’s early return next year.
