Pune: Bishop’s CoEd School Warns Parents on Students’ Social Media Use
Parents of students at The Bishop’s CoEd School in Undri received a strict notice from the school principal, Julian Luke, regarding their children’s social media activity. The message, sent on March 25, warned parents about students misusing their parents’ Google IDs to create social media accounts and post inappropriate content.
The school specifically pointed out that students from Std VI to XII were using platforms like Instagram to share reels with abusive language. The principal urged parents to check their children’s mobile devices and social media activity immediately. If any inappropriate posts were found, they were instructed to delete the accounts without delay.
“As your child is underage, it is illegal for them to engage in such activities on social media,” the notice stated. It further warned that any posts disrespecting the school, staff, or containing harmful content would lead to strict disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.

The school emphasized that failure to follow these guidelines would force them to take further action. The message concluded with an appeal to parents to help maintain a safe and respectful online environment.
The warning has been well received by parents. Many felt it was necessary for the school to intervene and monitor students’ social media usage. Some even suggested that the school should conduct workshops to educate students on the responsible use of social media.
The notice comes at a time when the Netflix series Adolescence has sparked discussions on the negative impact of social media on young minds. With concerns rising about online behavior, the school’s decision to take a strong stand has been widely appreciated.
