Pune, July 24, 2025: In a major operation, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), apprehended six Bangladeshi nationals who were residing illegally in India. The group was intercepted near Bhujbal Chowk in Wakad, along the Pune-Bengaluru Highway, as they were allegedly trying to flee to Mumbai.

According to information received by Crime Branch Unit 4 of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police, the six were planning to travel from Pune to Mumbai. Based on this tip-off, police laid a trap and detained them.

The arrested individuals initially gave misleading responses during interrogation, but upon further questioning, solid evidence emerged confirming their Bangladeshi nationality. They were identified as:

Balwadkar
  • Mohammad Usman Shirajun Ali Sheikh
  • Abdullah Shagar Mulla
  • Mobin Haroon Sheikh
  • Jahangir Billa Mulla
  • Mohammad Ilahin Ilyas Biswas
  • Tohid Muslem Hasan Sheikh

The six were taken into custody and later handed over to the Border Security Force (BSF) at Pune’s Lohegaon Airport. On July 22, 2025, they were flown to Guwahati and then deported to Bangladesh under BSF supervision via a special flight.
