Pune: Dance Instructor From Warje School Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Two Students
In a disturbing incident in the Handewadi area of Hadapsar, a traffic officer was assaulted by a driver on Saturday evening. The officer, identified as Ajinkya Nangude from the Handewadi traffic division, was kicked in the stomach and attacked with a hard object during a traffic management operation.
The altercation began when Nangude, who was directing traffic amidst a traffic jam, instructed 22-year-old Maruti Rajaram Mane, a resident of Gopalpatti, Manjari, to stop his vehicle. Mane, along with his companion Sonu Patkar, reacted aggressively, hurling verbal abuse at Nangude. The situation escalated when Mane physically attacked the officer.
Following the incident, Mane has been arrested and charges have been filed against him and Patkar. Nangude has submitted a detailed report to the Hadapsar police station, leading to further legal action.
The assault underscores the increasing tensions between traffic personnel and the public, highlighting the need for greater respect and safety for law enforcement officers on duty. Police are further investigating the case.
