Pune: Case Filed Against Ajit Pawar Faction Leader Bandu Khandve Following Assault On Vadgaon Sheri MLA Bapu Pathare
Pune, October 6, 2025: A case has been registered against Bandu Khandve, a leader from the Ajit Pawar faction, in connection with an assault on MLA Bapu Pathare. The complaint was filed by Pathare’s driver, Shakeel Sheikh, at the Airport Police Station. Following the complaint, a total of 20 individuals, including Khandve, have been named in the FIR.
According to MLA Pathare, the incident occurred on Saturday night around 10 PM in the Lohgaon area. Pathare revealed the information in a press conference in Kharadi stating that the local issues and ongoing work related to the protest were being discussed in the meeting. During the meeting, Khandve allegedly confronted him, questioning why Pathare was protesting, and attempted to physically assault him.
Pathare stated that his bodyguard was also attacked, and his driver, Shakeel Sheikh, was severely beaten. Additionally, Sachin Pathare, MLA Pathare’s nephew, was targeted. Within minutes, a large group—reportedly over 100 people—arrived at the scene and joined in the assault.
“This attack was premeditated. We were attending the event as guests when this happened,” MLA Pathare said, emphasizing the organized nature of the incident.
The police have registered the FIR and are investigating the case.
