Pune: CM Devendra Fadnavis Assures Action Plan for Traffic Woes on Nashik Phata, Dehu-Alandi Road and Pimpri-Chinchwad

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded positively to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Society Federation’s request for a meeting to address the severe traffic issues in Pimpri-Chinchwad city and Hinjewadi IT Park during the monsoon. This move has brought relief to thousands of housing society residents, Federation President Sanjeevan Sangle said.
The Federation had written to MLA Mahesh Landge, urging him to arrange a meeting between the Chief Minister and voluntary organisations from Pimpri-Chinchwad and Hinjewadi to discuss traffic congestion. CM Fadnavis assured that steps would be taken after listening to all concerns and instructed officials to work on viable solutions.
Residents highlighted the daily ordeal of being stuck in traffic for hours while commuting for work in the Hinjewadi IT hub and surrounding areas. They also proposed measures to ease congestion.
Drawing parallels with how Union Minister Nitin Gadkari addressed traffic problems at Chandani Chowk with an NHAI team and IIT Mumbai’s support, the delegation suggested a similar approach for Pimpri-Chinchwad.
Additionally, the Federation requested road widening on Nashik Highway, particularly in Chakan, Khed, Nigdi, Chikhali, and Moshi, to resolve bottlenecks permanently.
“For the first time in Maharashtra’s history, voluntary organisations from a city have been called to discuss and plan solutions for such civic issues. We expect an ‘Action Plan’ for Nashik Phata, Dehu-Alandi Road, and Chikhali to ease traffic,” said Sanjeevan Sangle, President, Pimpri-Chinchwad Housing Society Federation.
