Pune Corruption Exposed: Setu office women officials caught taking Rs 400 bribe for admission

In a crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two contractual computer operators, both women, from the Setu office, for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 400 to facilitate the filing of a complaint.

Two women, Vandana Dinesh Shinde (age 50) and Jayshree Rohidas Pawar (age 45) have been arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 400 at the Setu office in Haveli Upper Tehsil office.

The duo, who worked as contractual computer operators, demanded Rs 500 from a complainant seeking a landless land registry but settled for Rs 400.

After filing a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), a trap was laid, and the two were caught red-handed, leading to their arrest and registration of a case against them.

Both the accused are charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The case has been registered at Bund Garden police station.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Shirish Sardeshpande and Additional Superintendent Dr. Sheetal Janve, with Dr. Janve playing a key role in overseeing the action. Police Inspector Shriram Shinde has been tasked with leading the investigation into the matter.
