Pune: Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Wednesday instructed officials to take immediate and strict action against illegal plotting and mining activities in Yeolewadi, Katraj, and Kondhwa areas. He directed the municipal commissioner and district administration to file cases and submit a detailed report within three days.

The minister was addressing a review meeting in Mumbai, where BJP MLA Yogesh Tilekar raised the issue, pointing out the growing concern of unauthorized mining and small plot sales.

“Merely issuing notices and collecting fines is not enough. The administration must act decisively to curb these illegal practices,” Bawankule said during the meeting.

Tilekar highlighted that several people are being misled into buying illegally developed plots due to their low prices, while the administration has failed to take concrete action so far.
