Pune Crime Branch Nabs Notorious Criminal with Two Pistols In Mohammadwadi
Pune, April 19, 2025: Acting on a tip-off, the investigation team from Kalepadal Police Station apprehended a history-sheeter with firearms in Mohammadwadi, Pune. The accused, identified as Ajim alias Antya Mohammad Husen Shaikh (25), a resident of Lane No. 12, opposite Kabristan, Sayyadnagar, Hadapsar, was found in possession of two country-made pistols and four live cartridges.
The operation was executed under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Mansingh Patil, with Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete and his team patrolling the area. Police constable Nasir Deshmukh received information from an informant that the suspect was lurking suspiciously near Gauri Hotel on Palkhi Marg, en route to Heaven Park, possibly planning a serious crime.
Based on the intel, a police team swiftly reached the location and surrounded the suspect, who attempted to flee on spotting the officers. Upon search in the presence of two panch witnesses, the police recovered two pistols and four live rounds, valued at approximately ₹81,600.
A case has been registered against Ajim under Section 3(25) of the Indian Arms Act and Sections 37(1)(3) read with 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act at Kalepadal Police Station. He has been arrested and remains in custody.
The successful operation was carried out under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4 & Acting Zone 5), Shri Himmat Jadhav, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Wanwadi Division, Shri Dhanyakumar Godse, and Senior Police Inspector Manasingh Patil. The team included API Amit Shete and police personnel Pravin Kalbhor, Yuvraj Dudhal, Dawood Sayyed, Pratik Lahigude, Shahid Shaikh, Nasir Deshmukh, Atul Pandharkar, Shrikrishna Khokale, Nitin Shinde, Nitin Dhole, Saddam Tamboli, and Mahadev Shinde.
