Pune: In a shocking case, the son of a former corporator from Pune has been accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a young woman and forcing her to undergo multiple abortions. The alleged incident has sparked outrage, leading to a police complaint being filed at Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Karan Dilip Navale (28), a resident of Navale Bridge, Pune, first met the victim at a gym in 2021. Their acquaintance gradually turned into a romantic relationship. However, when the woman brought up marriage, Navale allegedly started avoiding the conversation. During this time, he allegedly coerced her into a physical relationship under the false promise of marriage. The woman became pregnant three times, and in two instances, she was reportedly forced to take abortion pills against her will.
The victim stated in her complaint that after becoming pregnant a third time, she was pressured not to report the crime. In an attempt to suppress the situation, Navale allegedly took her to Alandi and married her secretly. However, instead of taking her home, he reportedly assaulted her repeatedly to force another abortion. Unable to endure further abuse, the woman approached the police and lodged a complaint.
Police records indicate that the complaint was officially registered late at night on March 19, 2025. The incidents reportedly took place from 2021 to 2025 at a residential flat in Ambegaon, Pune. Based on the victim’s allegations, Navale has been booked under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including sections 69, 88, and 351(1). The investigation is ongoing.
Accused’s Mother is a Former Corporator
The accused is the son of a former corporator, adding a political angle to the case. As per the victim’s statement, Navale not only deceived her with false promises but also physically assaulted and threatened her when she questioned his intentions. Reports suggest that she had suspected him of being involved with other women, which led to confrontations where she was verbally abused and threatened.
Coerced Abortions and Continued Assault
The woman has accused Navale of forcing her into repeated pregnancies and then coercing her into abortion through physical and emotional abuse. She alleges that he manipulated her into believing they would get married, only to subject her to further exploitation.

Following the victim’s complaint, Bharati Vidyapeeth Police have launched an investigation into the matter. Authorities are gathering evidence and statements to build a strong case against the accused.
