The Chikhali-Moshi-Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Society Federation, known for spearheading one of Maharashtra’s largest cooperative housing movements, now has an official office to address the concerns and demands of society residents. The new office was inaugurated on May 25 by Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge.

Federation President Sanjeevan Sangle stated that this office will serve as an authorized platform for housing society members to raise issues related to maintenance, governance, and builder disputes. The Federation was formed on October 1, 2016, through a collective effort of society members in Pimpri Chinchwad. Since its inception, it has helped resolve numerous problems concerning water, electricity, garbage disposal, and incomplete housing projects.

The Federation has 1,668 cooperative housing societies as members, covering around 35,000 flats. Through its efforts, 566 societies have successfully completed conveyance deeds and had their ownership names added to official land records. The Federation has also mediated numerous disputes between societies and builders.

The Federation actively guides societies in compliance with the Maharashtra Cooperative Housing Society Acts of 1960 and 1961. Services include assistance with society elections, audits, maintenance collection, and resolving pending work from builders. They also handle disputes related to municipal services such as property taxes, garbage collection, water supply, and electricity.

Political Support and Civic Impact

The active participation of public representatives, especially Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge, has been key to resolving many civic issues. With his support:

  • Garbage collection centers planned near residential areas were cancelled.
  • A ₹168 crore user fee imposed on societies was revoked.
  • A special section was added to the PCMC’s ‘SARATHI’ app to help society members report problems more efficiently.

The Federation’s central office is located opposite the Jadhavwadi CNG Pump at Rajgad Row House No. 3, Sector 13, Chikhali Pradhikaran. The office inauguration marks a new chapter in empowering cooperative housing society members in the region.
