Mumbai, September 11, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has directed the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Chandni Chowk to Jambhulwadi road and the Jain Hostel Bakori Phata to Bakori road within one month.
He also instructed the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to urgently conduct meetings with landowners for land acquisition required for these road projects.
The instructions were given during a meeting chaired by Pawar in his chamber at Mantralaya regarding the works of Chandni Chowk–Jambhulwadi, Jain Hostel Bakori Phata–Bakori, Wagholi–Kesnand, and Wagholi–Avhalwadi roads.
Highlighting the increasing urbanization in Pune, Pawar noted that traffic congestion has become a serious issue. He directed all agencies to work in coordination to ease the traffic burden.
Although the Wagholi–Kesnand and Wagholi–Avhalwadi roads fall under the jurisdiction of the Public Works Department (PWD), Pawar emphasized that, considering the inconvenience faced by citizens, the PMRDA must immediately execute these works.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Finance Department O.P. Gupta, Principal Secretary of Planning Department Saurabh Vijay, Deputy CM’s Secretary Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, NHAI Pune Project Director Sanjay Kadam, and Deputy CM’s Joint Secretary Vikas Dhakne from Mantralaya.
