Pune, July 23, 2025 – A crucial review meeting to address traffic congestion and infrastructure challenges in Hinjawadi was held at the Council Hall on Monday under the chairmanship of Pune Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar. The meeting witnessed active participation from government agencies including PMRDA, MIDC, NHAI, PCMC, PMC, and PWD officials.

The session, attended by representatives of the Wakad Pimpri Chinchwad Residents Development and Welfare Association and members of the #UnclogHinjawadiITPark movement, focused on key issues plaguing commuters and IT professionals in the region.

Traffic Management in Hinjawadi: PMRDA assured the immediate provision of cement road dividers, portable traffic signals, and additional traffic wardens.

Road Infrastructure Updates: NHAI shared updates on ongoing road works and future plans, including the development of six new roads in Hinjawadi and widening of existing roads.

Metro Connectivity: Officials confirmed that Hinjawadi Metro services are expected to begin by December 2025 or March 2026.

Multi-Modal Transport Hub: Proposals for a transport hub were discussed.

Mhalunge-Hinjawadi Road Development: PWD highlighted progress on the Mhalunge-Hinjawadi road project.

Dedicated Traffic Team for IT Park: The creation of a traffic management team for the IT Park was proposed.

The Unclog Hinjawadi IT Park team, led by petitioner Sachin Londhe, submitted a detailed 57-page report to the Divisional Commissioner and PMRDA Commissioner, outlining practical solutions for traffic bottlenecks and sought a time-bound action plan from the authorities.

Housing society representatives and federation members from across Hinjawadi also attended the meeting to present pressing infrastructure concerns.

Residents expressed optimism following the meeting, as officials assured proactive measures to ease traffic and improve connectivity in one of Pune’s busiest IT corridors.
