Pune Divisional Commissioner Urges Graduates And Teachers To Register In Revised Voter Lists
Pune, September 26, 2025: A meeting of political party leaders and education institution heads, chaired by Pune Divisional Commissioner Dr. Chandrakant Pulkundwar, emphasized the importance of enrolling eligible voters in the upcoming revised electoral rolls for the Graduates’ and Teachers’ constituencies.
The De-Novo program mandates fresh voter registration for all graduates and teachers, even those who had registered in 2020. Dr. Pulkundwar appealed to political parties and educational institutions to actively encourage eligible voters to register before the deadlines.
Speaking at the meeting held at Vidhan Bhavan, attended by district officials, political representatives, and education heads from Satara, Solapur, Sangli, and Kolhapur (via video conferencing), Dr. Pulkundwar explained that graduates must fill Form 18 and teachers must complete Form 19. Graduates must have earned their degree at least three years prior to November 1, 2025, while teachers must have worked for at least three years between 2019 and 2025 in recognized secondary or higher-level institutions.
He further directed institutions to collectively submit teachers’ forms through Tehsil offices with proper recommendations. Strict action will be taken against institutions submitting incorrect information. Political parties and welfare organizations will not be allowed to submit applications in bulk.
Suggestions were also raised to strengthen online registration, organize camps in housing societies on holidays, and ensure no eligible voter is left out.
